During this non-credit course, students will learn welding safety, oxyfuel cutting, basic metal preparation, weld quality, SMAW(stick welding), steel prep and basic fabrication. A workforce certificate will be issued to successful students upon completion of the course. Participants are responsible for their own equipment. Students will receive Jones College Workforce Welding Certificate.

Students are responsible for course supplies. Supplies include: Welding Hood, Clear Safety Glasses, Milwaukee SS Long Handle Brush, Hi-Vis Tape, Welding Gloves, FR Pants, 3-Way Stricker, Welding Cap, Welding Goggles, Vise-Grip Straight Jaw, Spring Chipping Hammer, MIG Pliers, Steeled Toed Boots. Optional supply kits are available locally at B&R Industrial Supply in Laurel.
